What Stridr is, who it is for, and how to get started.

What is Stridr?

Stridr is an online hub for career focused learning and global opportunities. It offers short courses, internships, exchange programs, study abroad pathways and employability support, delivered by Australian education providers and university partners.

Who is Stridr for?

Stridr supports students who want job ready skills, industry experience and international study pathways. It also supports qualified professionals seeking Australian registration or recognition, and teachers undertaking professional development.

Do I need an account?

Yes. You must create an OpenLearning account, or log in to an existing one, to enrol in any Stridr service. You can create an account or log in here.

How do I enrol in a program?
  1. Browse Stridr and select the program you want
  2. Select Enrol or Add to your stride
  3. Log in to your OpenLearning account, or create one
  4. Complete checkout, where the program has a fee
  5. Start learning
Where do I find my enrolled courses?

After enrolment:

  1. Log in to OpenLearning
  2. Open your learner dashboard
  3. Select your active course or program
How do I access course materials?

Inside your course, use the navigation menu to open modules, activities and learning resources. Where a course includes live sessions, recordings appear in the same menu after each session.

What programs cost and how payment works.

Do programs cost money?

Some programs are free through partner institutions. Others require payment. The fee for each program is shown on its own page, and again at checkout before you pay.

What is included in the fee shown?

The fee shown covers the Stridr program only. Third party costs, such as examination fees, regulator fees, test fees and travel, are set by those organisations and paid directly by you. Where a program has significant third party costs, they are listed separately on the program page so you can see the full picture before you enrol.

Is there an additional fee for international students?

Some programs carry an administration fee for international students. Where this applies it is shown on the program page and at checkout.

Nursing registration programs

OET, NCLEX-RN and OSCE preparation for internationally qualified nurses.

Which nursing programs does Stridr offer?
Three Careers Advancement Programs, which can be taken individually or as the full pathway:
  • OET for Nurses, for the English language requirement, step four of the AHPRA pathway
  • NCLEX for RNs, for the Outcomes-Based Assessment Part 1, step five
  • OSCE for RNs, for the Outcomes-Based Assessment Part 2, step six
Do I need all three programs?
Not necessarily. Complete the free AHPRA Self-check first. If your qualification is assessed as substantially equivalent to an Australian approved program you are Stream A, and you do not sit the NCLEX-RN or the OSCE. You still meet the English requirement. Stream B candidates need all three. We will not enrol you in an examination course you do not need.
Where is the OSCE examination held?
AHPRA sits the registered nurse OSCE at two centres only, Adelaide and Melbourne. There is no Sydney examination centre. Our two week OSCE preparation is delivered on campus in Sydney, and you travel to Adelaide or Melbourne to sit the examination itself.
Is the full pathway package discounted?
Yes. The three programs total AUD $3,350 when taken together, and the $250 administration fee is waived on that combined enrolment. The individual course fees are OET for Nurses $750, NCLEX for RNs $600 and OSCE for RNs $2,000. No further discount is applied to any individual course fee. Third party costs, including AHPRA, NMBA and NCSBN examination and regulator fees, are set by those organisations and paid directly by you.
Do you guarantee registration or a job?
No, and no provider honestly can. AHPRA, the NMBA and ANMAC make their own decisions, and employers make their own hiring decisions. Stridr and the delivering provider are not AHPRA, the NMBA, ANMAC or the NCSBN, are not endorsed by them, and cannot influence any outcome.
Can Stridr advise me on my visa?
No. Migration advice is lawfully provided only by a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner, and we will refer you to one. The nursing pathway page sets out how to complete an ANMAC skills assessment yourself, but we do not prepare, review or lodge it.
Certificates and completion

Completion rules and certificate delivery.

Will I receive a certificate?

Many programs provide a certificate once you complete all required activities. The completion rules for your program are set out inside the course.

Why have I not received my certificate?

The most common reasons are:

  • Course progress has not reached 100 per cent
  • The certificate email has gone to your spam or junk folder
  • You enrolled using a different email address from the one you are checking

If none of these apply, contact your course facilitator.

What if I cannot log in?
  1. Confirm you are using the email address you enrolled with
  2. Reset your password
  3. Try another browser or device
  4. Try a private or incognito browsing window
What if my course disappears?
This usually means one of the following:
  • You have logged in to a different account
  • Your access period has ended
  • The course is temporarily offline
What if the site will not load?
  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Switch browsers
  4. Clear your cache

Recognition of Prior Learning

How RPL works and what it can and cannot do.

What is RPL?

Recognition of Prior Learning assesses learning you already hold from study, training and work experience. It identifies the learning outcomes that match parts of a program.

Will RPL guarantee admission or credit?

No. Your RPL outcome supports your application. The partner institution makes the final decision on admission and on any credit granted.

What documents improve my outcome?

Clear transcripts, unit outlines, role descriptions, reference letters and evidence of work outputs. The more specific the evidence, the more of it an assessor can recognise.

What happens after I submit my application?

We review your submission and contact you if further evidence is needed. You receive your outcome report once the assessment is complete.

How do I use the results to apply to a partner institution?

Submit your outcome report with your application to the institution. If you would like support with this, request it in the form or contact the team.
