HELI's Graduate Certificate in eLearning is designed by industry and education experts for anyone who wants to build a foundation in technology supported learning, education, and digital learning design and development.
It runs six months full time, or the part time equivalent, and gives graduates the eLearning knowledge, skills and understanding to work effectively in academic or workplace learning and development settings. Teaching and learning activities are arranged so that course and subject learning outcomes are achieved coherently regardless of where or how you study.
Transfer into the Master of eLearning is available on completion.

Four core units, 24 credit points
To qualify for the award you complete all four core units below. A unit worth 6 credit points is equal to 0.125 equivalent full-time student load.

No prerequisites apply to any unit. While not mandatory, it is recommended that you follow the sequence above. Onshore international students study full time on campus in Melbourne, except for units that must be taken online to suit the unit focus. Offshore international students study 100 per cent online.

This course leads directly into the Master of eLearning. HELI combines its own methodology, contemporary theory and industry practice, so what you study here carries forward rather than being repeated.

Admission requirements
Admission is granted to applicants who meet any one of the following. This is an AQF Level 8 qualification.
- A completed bachelor degree (AQF 7) or higher from a recognised institution
- A three year associate degree or advanced diploma (AQF 6) with a credit average
- A two year associate degree or advanced diploma (AQF 6) with a credit average, plus one year of full-time relevant professional experience
- A diploma (AQF 5) plus two years of full-time relevant professional experience
- A recognised postgraduate preparation program
- Three years of full-time managerial or professional experience in a related field
- Five years of full-time general work experience in a related field
English language requirements
Applicants with international qualifications not delivered in English must demonstrate equivalency, for example Academic IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or PTE Academic 58 with writing and speaking at least 50. Other accepted tests and scores are listed in the HELI admission policy.

How long does it take?
Two trimesters full time, which is about six months, or four trimesters part time, about 18 months.
Can I study fully online?
Offshore international students study 100 per cent online. Onshore international students study full time on campus in Melbourne, except for units that must be delivered online to suit the unit focus.
Does it count towards a masters?
Yes. The four units transfer into the Master of eLearning, so you do not repeat them.
What are the intakes?
February, June and September each year.
Am I eligible without a bachelor degree?
Possibly. Three years of full-time managerial or professional experience in a related field, or five years of general work experience, are both accepted entry routes. See the admission requirements above.
